Job Function

Whilst this role will be primarily client facing there are also internal responsibilities too. It is important to be aware that travelling may be required on occasion.

Required Technical Skills and Experience

There is not an expectation of deep knowledge of all of the following software. The ideal candidate will have at least a basic understanding of these areas as well as some experience using them.

Linux/Unix : Although the software used by Ketl runs on all platforms some experience or exposure to Linux is required. This should include an understanding of disk mounting, file/directory handling, user permissions, grep and shell scripting.

Java : Some understanding of classes, methods and how to write basic functions

Databases : Any of Oracle, MS Sql, MySQL, Ingres. The essential requirement is to understand the basics of relational databases and how to write basic SQL. Any knowledge of Kimball methodology would be useful.

ETL Tools : Talend, Informatica, Ab Initio, Data Stage. Also of interest any experience in hand crafted code to move data between systems.

Reporting Tools : Jaspersoft, Business Objects or any other.

Personal Characteristics

This is by far the most important requirement. The candidate will have the opportunity to join a new Consultancy working in a rapidly growing sector of the IT industry. The scope for them to learn and enhance both their technical and inter-personal skills is unlimited. Therefore the ideal candidate will be :
