Initial Client Challenge
Age UK’s Data Management Enterprises Division teams have to perform custom data cleaning processes to remedy duplicate records and incomplete records in a database containing some 12 million contacts.
Why KETL was chosen
Age UK was recommended to KETL as a Talend Gold System Integration partner. KETL had already worked with Age UK to build a data integration framework that served as a pilot project prior to the full implementation.
KETL continues to mentor the project team at Age UK and to backfill with developer resources as needed.
Age UK is the largest charity in the United Kingdom dedicated to helping elderly people make the most of later life. The Age UK Group comprises Age UK and three national charities—Age Cymru, Age NI and Age Scotland—and in England, 165 local Age UK partners and over 400 smaller organisations. The charity provides advice via its free national advice line, enables independence through exercise classes and mobility aids, and combats loneliness through befriending services. Age UK also helps older people to manage benefits, insurance and finances.
As Age UK had no Talend experience we set up a pilot project as a proof of concept (POC). The project was designed to last for 3 months. Due to the success of the POC Talend was then the choice for the project to de-dupe the CRM data prior to migration to the new Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
